Artist Derek Gundy January 2025 - I was hired to create a black and white architectural rendering of a home yet to be built on a lot in Bremerton, WA. Rendered with Pentel Finito Pen with the pigment loosened into washed with a wet sable watercolor brush. Art Size 16x12 inches December 2024 - I was hired to create a watercolor house portrait of the client's parents home in Oklahoma. The parents were very proud of the home and especially the gardens so it was important to understand the layout of that alongside the driveway leading up to the house. Art Size 13x9 inches December 2023 - A family inherited acreage and an old farm on Whidbey Island, and I was hired to create an illustrated map of some of the landmarks, buildings, and memoires that the grandkids had growing up and visiting the property. It was really inspiring to get to visit the property in the fall of 2023 preparing for this project and walk most of the property, taking pictures and hearing the stories that I would eventually translate into the illustration. Art Size 16x20 December 2023 - Hired to paint sunset view of the Olympic Mountains as seen fromt he client's home in West Seattle. Major peaks that could be seen were labeled with pen to complete the watercolor illustration. Art Size 20x16 2023 - Custom Map of Diamond Lake in Newport, WA - I created a watercolor & pen illustration of Diamond Lake, with small visuals depicting which fish were being caught in specific locations, swimming areas, an eagles, nest, a local cafe, and the location of the client's lakehouse. 2022 - Hired to create an artistic map of a 5 acre property in Fall City, WA. The property had been in the family for decades, and we utilized the map to illustrate special memories over the years. I also created a different view Home Portrait (see below) Art Size 16x20 2022 - Home Portrait Illustration in Watercolor - Fall City, WA - this is the same home and property that was mapped in above image. A magical property and place to illustrate. Art Size 16x12 2022 - Custom Map of Family Properties - Western Washington & Puget Sound - Two sisters hired me to create a map of properties owned by their parents - a childhood home, a camp, and current home. I enjoyed creating a map of Western Washington and the Puget Sound region and then have visual pop-ups where each of the property was located. In 2017, I was commissioned by Umpqua Bank to create an illustration for the Seattle region branches to use on their computer login screens. This project involved some back and forth creative discussions with a project manager at Umua Bank headquarters in Portland, OR. The project was to be one illustration to be used in full as pictured below as well as a cropped banner format. Umpqua Bank pruchased the original and all reproduction rights for the image. Maybe we'll see it on some of their debit cards in the future.
